Let's make a skirt that lights up like the night sky!
1. 10 Star LEDboards
2. 2 battery boards
3. 2 coincell batteries
4. Conductive thread
5. Sewing needle and scissors
Each battery can only power 4-5 LEDs reliably, so we are going to sew 2 seperate circuits onto the skirt. The circuits have the LEDs connected in parallel, like in the diagram above. Each negatice pad is connected together, and all of the positive pads are connected together.
Place the components on your skirt similar to the diagram. The batteryboards will be hidden on the inside of the skirt.
Using conductive thread, sew a path that connects all of the negative pads of the stars together and to the skirt. Sew to the negative pad on the batteryboard, tie a knot and cut your thread.
Using a new piece of conductive thread, repeat for the positive pads.
Be sure to secure you batteryboard like in this photo. Feel free to use non conductive thread in some of the pads to avoid short circuits.
Repeat this circuit for the other set of stars.
Place the coincell bateries in the holder and watch the starts light up! If there are any issues go over each path again to make sure there are no shorts. It might be easiest to do this using an allligator clip
