duration: 1 hour
Make your own valentine flower!
1. Heart LED x1
2. Temperature Sensor x1
3. Battery board x1
4. Coin Cell x1
5. Conductive tape
8. Color Paper
9. Thin straw or metal rod
Print out the planter template and glue it onto a piece of cardboard. Cut the pieces out along the solid cut lines and score along the dashed lines.
Arrange the temperature sensor and battery board accordingly on the cardboard and connect them with conductive tape like the image. Make sure the white pattern side of the temperature sensor faces down.
Fold the cardboard into a planter box and glue it up. Follow the steps here to make an origami rose. https://www.wikihow.com/Fold-a-Simple-Origami-Flower Glue the heart LED on top of the flower and cut out 2 rectilinear holes for the pads of the heart LED. Mark the + and - of the LED at the bottom
Cut out a long rectilinear piece of paper and wrap it around a thin metal rod or straw in order to make the stem of the rose. Glue the top of the stem to the bottom of the rose. Glue the bottom of the stem to the top face of the bottom of the planter.
Connect the “warm” end of the sensor with conductive tape that goes through two tiny openings on the planter and the stem to the + of the heart LED.
Connect the - of the battery board to the - of the heart LED with conductive tape.
